Raise Tūmanako launch

Wow! Could we have hoped for a better launch for our #raisetumanako Pledge me seed-funding campaign?  A truly magical, inspiring and memorable night.

Zion and Alice opened with a beautiful melodic waiata, Holly Arrowsmith brought the vibes and made us cry, we showed a short film to explain our story (even though it stuttered in a technical hitch the message got through) and THE EASTERN brought the house down at the church of Christchurch folk music. In between we heard from Greer O'Donnell and Marcelle Lunam about what makes Tūmanako so special.

The Eastern pelted out 'Victory Song' to a chanting crowd before all the artists took the stage to deliver a rousing finale with a blistering rendition of  'The Weight' as we all joined in with full force. And to close John Tait told us about the deeper significance and meaning of the Te Reo word Tumanako.

Over 150 of you braved winter (in a packed house!) and embarked on this journey to #raisetūmanako, now let’s continue the conversation! We need your help:
